- What conventions of the genre that you chose to base your final task on does this movie have?
- My final task will be based on conventions I noticed. Things like building suspense, and excitement. This will be done through a fast pace style plot and development. This involves the protagonist doing things like racing and running , scrambling to get somewhere . In the housemaid she was found in a very mysterious and manipulative situation.
- What conventions of the genre did the movie have that you liked and why?
- I liked the fact that they took a protagonist who wanted a "fresh start" in the film. Often times when the characters are not happy with parts and their life and need a new start, it puts them in situations that they may never usually find themselves in. Thus, the whole convention of a thriller.
- What conventions of the genre did the movie have that did not appeal to you and you are thinking of not filming for your final task and why?
- one of the things I didn't particularly like about this story was a very stereotypical convention for a horror movie. I didn't like the fact that this protagonist was seen as "naive" and in a vulnerable state. I don't always like the idea that this protagonist NEEDS to be in this state in order to fall into the traps of a classic thriller. In our video we will make it just the average person who falls into these struggles.
